Hello again fans of Middle Earth!
Bad news.
We had an incident on the job at 220 Central Park South late Friday afternoon around 4 pm.
A number 11 rebar fell off the 51st floor and landed on the sidewalk bridge with a loud bang. This caused quite a commotion if you will and caused me to stay on the job till 1030 pm Friday night. It also caused me to come back to the job all day Saturday.
The cards have really been stacked against us as of late. A couple of pictures.

Thank God nobody got hurt and there was no property damage.
Couple more pictures:

We really are up there now. About 750 feet up more or less. 250 to go.

I had the worst hot dog in years down there the other day. It was horrible. The line at the Nathan’s hot dog truck was too long so I went to the no name guy. What a mistake.

Georgia is leaving for Spain this weekend to teach English in Madrid for a year. We’re all so proud of her. Spain doesn’t know how lucky they are to have her. What an adventure! Hmmm. Too bad we couldn’t send a wizard like Gandalf along to show her the way. Actually, she has quite a few wizard-like charms herself and I think she’ll manage just fine.
Good luck Georgia.
I love you so much.
Dad
What sort of building will this be (other than really tall?) Offices? Apartments?
So very different from my day to day!
Hello Sally!
So this building is a residential condo.
It’s for one percenters if you will. Real everyday folk will not be living in this place.
Some hedge fund guy bought 40,41,and the 42nd floors for guess how much?
$250 million dollars so I’m told. That’s pretty hard to wrap your head around. For that kind of money don’t you get a Chateau in the French Alps? They tell me that this will be the most expensive condo ever to be built in the city.
I’m really just concerned with finishing the job without another incident so I don’t get my head handed to me.
Hmmm. Gotta see if this guy is into the Lord of the Rings or the Hobbit.
We shall see!
Hope you are enjoying your summer.
Jim
